Andrew Braun – Agent
Andrew operates the North Central MN location which he opened in 2022. Andrew graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in Construction Management. He worked for a large heavy civil contractor for 2 years in various states. He then joined a publicly traded mono-line workers compensation carrier where he was a Sr. Loss Control Representative for 10+ years.
Andrew brings a unique prospective to the agency as he has worked with small to large businesses and with a variety of industries from logging, tree trimming, agribusiness, trucking, manufacturing, and contractors.
Andrew enjoys doing all things outside from splitting firewood, gardening, and buildings things. Andrew enjoys volunteering with the hospitality team at church.

Dean Salminen – Principal Agent
After serving for 6 years in the US Navy as a submarine Radioman, Dean began his career in the financial services industry. He has 25 years of experience as a financial advisor working for both Morgan Stanley and RBC Capital Markets before starting his own financial advising company.
In 2014, Dean purchased NorthWoods Agency from Rowan and JoAnn McDonnell and has continued the tradition of excellent customer service and specializing in providing commercial insurance within the Forest Products Industry.
In his free time, Dean enjoys all things outdoors from hunting at his cabin in northern MN to fishing in Alaska. Dean resides in Cook, MN and serves Northern MN.
